✝️ BREAD OF THE WEEK

What if the very thing you’re afraid to ask…
is the thing God is most ready to give?

Verse of the Week:

📖 “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory!
Let Your hand be with me, and keep me from evil,
so that I may not cause pain.”

– 1 Chronicles 4:10

Personal Reflection:
Jabez doesn’t get a whole chapter.
Just two verses.

But somehow, that tiny prayer has echoed across generations.

He was born into pain.
Named after it, even.
And yet — the Bible says he was more honorable than his brothers.

Why?

Because he didn’t let the label stick.
He didn’t settle for the name the world gave him.
He asked God for more — and believed God would answer.

This wasn’t prosperity preaching.
It was bold, faithful praying.

And Scripture says…
God granted him what he asked.

Lord,

Thank You that we are not stuck in the story we were born into.
Help us pray bold prayers like Jabez — not out of pride, but out of trust.

Bless us with purpose.
Enlarge our hearts for Your mission.
Keep us from the evil that wants to dim our light —
and make us a blessing, not a burden, to the world around us.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen

3 Ways to Pray Like Jabez This Week:

  1. Start with boldness.
Before you pray for others, ask boldly for what you need. God is not intimidated by your “too much.”

  2. Break the label.
Whatever name you’ve been carrying — failure, too much, not enough — give it to God. Let Him rename you.

  3. Pray it daily.
For the next 7 days, whisper Jabez’s prayer each morning. Write it down. Watch what changes in you.

🍽️ PRAYER PANTRY

This week, let’s pray for those in a Jabez season — people starting over after pain, asking God for more.

If that’s you… we’re praying with you.
If you know someone… forward this and tell them they’re not forgotten.

🙏 Lord,
For the one carrying trauma like a name tag — rewrite their story.
For the one who’s afraid to ask — give them holy boldness.
And for every person reading this who’s been called “too much” or “not enough”…
remind them who they really are.
Bless them. Expand their territory.
And let their life bring healing.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen

Praying for you this week - He hears every word.
