✝️ BREAD OF THE WEEK

We love when God says “yes.”
But what about the times He says “Not yet”?
Or worse — “No”?

🕯️ This week, I want to invite you into one of the hardest, holiest truths in the Christian life:

Delay is not denial.
And sometimes... even “no” is mercy.

Verse of the Week:

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

— 2 Corinthians 12:9

Personal Reflection:
Have you ever prayed for something — and waited?
And waited… and waited…
Only to feel like heaven went silent?

David did. Paul did. Even Jesus, in the Garden of Gethsemane, heard a holy “no.”

One of the most powerful examples is King David.
He wanted to build a temple for God — a good thing.
But God said no.

Not because David wasn’t faithful.
But because his role was to prepare, not to finish.
To obey, not to control the outcome.

David still gathered the materials. Still praised. Still believed.
And that’s the kind of faith I want to have — even when the answer isn’t what I hoped.

This week, let’s lean into this truth together:

Sometimes God’s “no” means “I’ve got something better.”
And sometimes He slows it down… because we’re not ready yet.

God, I don’t always feel seen — but You say I am engraved on Your hands.
When the silence stretches long and the answers feel far away,
remind me that I’m not forgotten. I’m not forsaken.
You have marked me with love that doesn’t fade or fail.

Lord,
When You say no, help me trust that You’re still working.
When doors close, remind me it’s not rejection — it’s redirection.
Teach me to walk by faith, not by sight,
and to wait with expectation, not frustration.
Even in the silence, help me hear Your love.
Even in the delay, help me see Your hand.
I surrender what I wanted... for what You know I need.
In Jesus’ name,

Amen

🌾 COUNT THE CRUMBS (Gratitude Corner)

“Lord, thank you for every closed door that protected me.
Every delay that built me.
Every detour that brought me closer to You.”

Gratitude prompts this week:

  • What delay did you have in your life that turned out for good when you looked back upon it?

  • What “No” did you receive but then something better came along that you would have missed if you had received the first thing?

  • What are you waiting on now? Has God said “Not yet?” or “No?”

📝 Write down your answers. Thank Him out loud for his guidance. Every crumb counts.
